On August 5, 2025, Indus University of Health Sciences (IUHS) organized its much-anticipated annual event titled “Fusion Expressions Beyond the White Coat” at Saleem Habib University, Korangi Creek, Karachi. The event was a vibrant celebration of talent, creativity, and the dynamic spirit of future healthcare professionals.

The occasion was graced by esteemed guests, including Prof. Dr. Zafar Ali Zaidi, Dean of IUHS, who served as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Dr. Ghina Shams, Associate Dean, IUHS; Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder, Vice Chancellor of Saleem Habib University; Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Registrar of Saleem Habib University; and Mr. Asif Yaqoob, Marketing Manager.

Dr. Zafar Ali Zaidi, while addressing the audience, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the students’ stellar performances. He emphasized the importance of such co-curricular activities in shaping well-rounded professionals and announced that the next edition of the event would be hosted at the IUHS campus.
Prof. Dr. Syed Irfan Hyder shared his astonishment and delight at witnessing the university auditorium being used in such an innovative and engaging way. He praised the students’ creativity and energy, acknowledging their ability to bring the stage to life.

The event featured powerful performances from students across various departments, including ICPR, ICFMPH, ICMAH, and ICoNM. The program began with spiritually uplifting segments such as Qirat, Hamd, and Naat, followed by motivational speeches that inspired the audience. Students also performed theatrical skits addressing social issues, a thought-provoking media talk show, and stand-up comedy that had the audience in fits of laughter.
One of the highlights of the program was a Comedy-style Qawwali presented by the 9th-semester DPT students, which received thunderous applause and special recognition from Dr. Muhammad Hussain Habib, Registrar of Saleem Habib University.

The event was a testament to the passion and potential of IUHS students, successfully blending culture, intellect, and entertainment – truly going “beyond the white coat.”
