Aga Khan University and Indus University of Health Sciences Partner to Strengthen Primary Care in Pakistan
Karachi, Pakistan – February 19, 2026 – Aga Khan University (AKU) and the Indus College of Family Medicine and Public Health (ICFMPH), Indus University of Health Sciences, have joined forces in a strategic collaboration to advance primary care across Pakistan.
The partnership focuses on disseminating evidence-based, locally relevant Best Clinical Practice Guidelines developed by the AKU Centre for Clinical Best Practices. These guidelines are being delivered through structured Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities, digital platforms, and professional networks, empowering thousands of General Practitioners nationwide to integrate high-quality, context-appropriate guidance into their daily clinical practice.
Dr. Faridah Amir Ali, Principal of ICFMPH, serves as an External Advisory Board Member, contributing to strategic oversight, aligning initiatives with primary care needs, and ensuring dissemination approaches are practical, scalable, and responsive to frontline realities.
This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to strengthening primary care and improving patient outcomes through locally generated, evidence-informed best practices.
