From Crises to Confidence: IHHN Empowers Healthcare Professionals with Pediatric Emergency and Trauma Training
Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) successfully concluded a dynamic three-day workshop titled “From Crises to Confidence: Navigating Pediatric Emergencies with Resuscitation and Trauma Expertise.” This intensive training aimed to enhance the capacity of healthcare professionals in managing pediatric emergencies through hands-on simulations and focused learning.
Held at IHHN’s flagship campus in Karachi, the workshop brought together 36 participants from across Pakistan—including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Badin, and various institutions in Karachi—creating a collaborative learning environment for clinicians working in diverse healthcare settings.
Led by a team of seasoned facilitators, the workshop was anchored by Dr. Saba Laila, Head of Pediatric Emergency Services at IHHN and Program Director of the Foundation of Pediatric Emergency Certification Program. She was joined by Dr. Uzma Khurram Shaikh, Dr. Quratulain, Mr. Wajid, and Dr. Nida, whose combined expertise in emergency medicine and trauma care ensured a high-impact learning experience for all attendees.
The curriculum focused on the resuscitation and trauma management of sick and injured children, with immersive skill stations, interactive case-based discussions, and real-time decision-making exercises. The final day featured an exclusive Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) training session, giving participants critical exposure to bedside diagnostic techniques now integral to emergency pediatric care.
This workshop reflects IHHN’s unwavering commitment to advancing pediatric emergency medicine through continuous professional development.
