Pediatric Nutrition Certification Course

A 6-month hybrid Pediatric nutrition Course designed to train dietitians, doctors, nurses and students for common malnutrition problems and their management.

The course is designed to address clinical problems related to pediatric malnutrition ranging from screening to management. The easy pace of the course is ideal for busy professionals to learn with convenience and provide exposure to in-patient and outpatient malnourished children. Program Objectives
- A 6-month hybrid nutrition course, which will provide an opportunity for learners to study at their own pace and hands-on teaching for relevant skills needed to excel in pediatric nutrition.
- Aiming to improve the knowledge gap among healthcare professionals regarding the management of malnutrition in pediatrics.
Program Details
- Duration: 6 months
- Certificate / Diploma / Degree: Certificate
- Mode of Education: Zoom, LMS (Moodle), Onsite session
- Classes in a Month: 1 (Zoom class), along with 3 on-site teaching activities over 6-month course duration.
- Duration of class: 1.5 hours zoom class, 3 hours onsite teaching activity
- Timing: 9:30 am-11:30 am (online) 9:00 am-12:00 pm (onsite)
- Examination: Online (MCQ – 1 exam per month)
- 12 CNE/CME credit hours will be awarded

Course Outcomes
By the end of this course, the participants will be able to manage:
- Clinical cases of pediatric malnutrition according to IYCF and WHO guidelines.
- The nutritional needs of pediatric population in special circumstances like critical care, cerebral palsy and tube feeding.
Scope of Practice
It is important to equip healthcare providers with the optimal management skills of malnourished children to serve the purpose of improving the future of Pakistan and achieving MDG goals.
To fill in these gaps, a 6-month hybrid nutrition course is designed jointly by Clinical Nutrition Department of Indus Hospital and Pakistan Nutrition and Dietetic Society for dietitians, pediatricians, and family physicians. The blended nature of this course will provide an opportunity for the learners to study at their own pace and will provide hands-on teaching for important relevant skills

- Undergraduates (Must be completed 2-year education in BS program), Post graduates.

Post graduates, BS, BSN, MSc, MBBS, FCPS, PGDs, Undergraduates (Must be completed 2-year education in BS program).
